As an America's Next Top Model watcher, I continue to be shocked and amazed at the outfits Tyra wears on the show.

Sure, we could blame her stylist, but let's get serious. Tyra is definitely self-styled. As far as the show goes, I think Tyra maintains complete creative control. Why? Because she loves herself. Here is just a very short list of offenses from this season so far:

1. Sequin blazer with shoulder pads
2. Belly baring top
3. Inventing the word "Smize" (Smiling with your Eyes)
4. Inventing the word "Ty-over" (A Tyra Makeover)
5. Wearing a superhero costume

Indie Studio Sierra Noble PDF Print E-mail

She's just 19 years old, but Sierra Noble is far from new to the local music scene. Having mastered the fiddle and involved herself in many causes as a humanitarian when she was a young child, Sierra's recently introduced her voice to the world on her newest EP 'Possibilities'.

With her continuation of helping heal the world through her music and raving reviews on her sound along with her enthralling live performances, it's no surprise Sierra has been honoured with the Manitoba Premier's Award for Volunteer Service and the Minister of Veterans Affairs Commendation, amongst many other awards and was chosen to open for the one and only Sir Paul McCartney not long ago. This is one local artist you'll want to keep both eyes and ears on for years to come.

Draught Picks PDF Print E-mail

September usually symbolizes back-to-school but for many it also means fantasy hockey draft time or Oktoberfest celebrations. We thought we would combine the two and give you a taste of our “draught picks” and a bit of education about the Brew-ha-ha we call Oktoberfest.

Whether you’re aiming to have the best darn Beer Fest team out there or just want to have a good selection in your bar fridge, you need to know about the product. We went straight to the source and spoke to Steve Moran, Product Ambassador at the MLCC.  Or, as we like to call him, The Beer Guru.

The Beer Guru told us that the main difference between ales and lagers is the yeast type and fermentation temperature. Ale, the original beer, is brewed warmer, resulting in a more fruity or spicy flavour.
